Northrop Tests OMS Architecture for UAS Onboard Global Hawk

RQ-4-Global-HawkTYSONS CORNER, VA June 19, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — Northrop Grumman[1] (NYSE: NOC) has conducted flight tests of a new Open Mission Systems architecture for unnamed aircraft at Edwards Air Force Base, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday[2].

The flight, which used a NASA RQ-4 Global Hawk,  demonstrated how the unmanned aircraft system could be deployed to flexibly adapt to specific missions using the OMS platform, Northrop said Wednesday[3].

OMS is part of the company’s technology implementations under a five-year Space Act pact with NASA.
